Manzanillo, Mexico Holidays & Events

There are so many Manzanillo holidays and events to partake in while staying at our property. Plan your next vacation so that you can participate in one of the many events around the area. Mexico always knows how to celebrate and put on a great party.


January 1: Año Nuevo. New Year’s Day. All government offices and banks will be closed.

January 20-22nd: First Dance Manzanillo Festival at the Pez Vela square.

January 21: Elefante concert, this is a famous Mexican pop band named Elefante, it will be in the food truck park “Picnic on the beach” on the main boulevard just next to Punto Bahia mall.


Dia de la Constitucion. This day celebrates the promulgation of the country’s 1917 Constitution. It's always on the first Monday in February.

Carnival: Manzanillo has been celebrating this event since 1898. The city comes alive with events during this time of the year. During this time experience parties, parades with floats and even a carnival queen. This date varies as it is the day before the start of Lent. 

February 4: Nicho Hinojosa a famous mexican musician also in the food truck park “Picnic on the beach”.


March 6, 2016
6th Annual Canine Festival: Prizes will be awarded for the best dressed and most fashionable dogs. There will be dancing and more.

March 16, 2016
The Hungary ballet presents: The Princess Ballerinas. Held at Marbella Salon de Eventos in Manzanillo, Col. Tickets available at Junanitos restaurant. The program begins at 8 p.m. General admission: $300 pesos VIP: $500 pesos. For more information call 314-85-84864.

March 20-March 27, 2016
Samana Santa Holy Week of Easter. Maudy Thursday and Good Friday are public holidays. There will be street fiestas in the evenings in the central part of Manzanillo. On March 27th visitors can observe elaborate candle-lit altars at the City Museum on Independence 684.

Kids Fishing Tournament
Children ages 7 to 11 years old are invited to participate in the 34th annual Children’s Fishing Tournament in Manzanillo. The tournament will be held at Pier Cruise in the center of Manzanillo. It’s free to participate.

Magma Conference This conference brings in web developers, engineers and designers from all over the world.


September 15-16, 2016
Dia de la Independencia. Mexican Independence Day. Celebrations start on the evening of September 15th and go through the next day.


November 1-2, 2016
NoDia de los Fieles Difuntos. Mexico’s “Day of the Dead” celebration.

November 1, 2016
International Golf Challenge: Open to both men and women. Participants can try to make the longest shot, the current record in 400 yards or shot. There will be awards for the best score for the 18 hole course.

November 15, 2016
Dia de la Revolution. This date celebrates the start of Mexico’s 1910 revolution. This is always observed on the third Monday in November.
